Herman arrived at SASHA Farm through a case of mistaken identity. He was part of a group of wild boars living near the sanctuary. A neighbor spotted him alone rooting in his pond and thought he was the sanctuary boar, Boris. Thinking Boris to be in danger, the sanctuary rushed over to discover this little guy. Herman was brought back to SASHA farm, so he would not be shot. Several days later, hunters killed a group of boar in the same area Herman had been in.
